My hospital birth VS my birth center birth.

Ladies delivering a baby is hard work no matter if you had a vaginal birth, c-section, went all natural, went the drug or epidural route it’s just not a simple task to get another human being out of your body. Here is my experience x’s 2. My first child I gave birth at a hospital. May 14th, 2016 at 12am the contractions started, at this point in time I really wasn’t sure if I was in labor but the “cramping” came every 2 minutes so I told my mother I think we needed to head to the hospital. I requested that my mom, my brother, and my boyfriend be in the room with me BUT this happened to be a night that both my brother and boyfriend decided they wanted to go out. Guess who shows up drunk? My brother and my freaking boyfriend.. BOTH OF THEM!!! So these two MFERS slept the whole time I was in labor. Thank god for my mom because if I had to count on those two, I would have been very let down. I went into labor wanting to go completely natural but things didn’t go as planned and I ended up getting an epidural. After getting the epidural I was still in a lot of pain, so much pain that I was screaming and nurses were running in wondering what was going on because apparently “I shouldn’t have been feeling anything“. Thankfully I was only in labor for 8 hours and 39 minutes, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl at 8:39am May 14,2016. My personal experience with epidural was that I still felt a significant amount of pain, getting a catheter was so awful and made me change my mind about getting an epidural again because I never want to go through having a catheter again. The second time I went into labor, with my son, was 6:30pm on March 22,2019. This time we went to a birth center instead of a hospital. I had always wanted a water birth and although my first labor was still painful with an epidural, I knew that if I really put my mind to it, I could give birth ALL natural, and that’s what I did! We arrived to the birth center at 7:30pm, by the time we got there I was already 7cm dilated (thank god!). I’m not going to lie, labor was hard and extremely painful. There was definitely a point in time I didn’t think I was going to be able to make it but I DID IT!!! Thanks to my boyfriend (who wasn’t drunk this time👌🏼) and to my amazing midwife. This woman had the magic touch! The very next day my lady parts didn’t hurt at all and I didn’t even feel like I had just pushed a baby out of my hoo haa. Labor was so difficult but I would choose a natural birth AT a birth center over a hospital birth every time... (if I have any more children). The benefits of a birth center birth are you get to walk around and move as much as you want, you feel like you’re in the comfort of your own home, everyone there is on your side about going natural and do their best to help you make that achievement, you get to take your baby home the same night, you feel like SUPERWOMAN💪. Ladies, once again you are amazing NO MATTER how you bring your baby into the world. Women are amazing. Point Blank Period.
